Florida 2011

Little Jack is not so little anymore...he is now 7 months old!! He is so much fun, and each day is a million times better because we have him in our lives.

1. He loves rice cereal, green peas, and sweet potatoes, so far that is all he has tried.
2. He loves to Jump in his jumper...his dad set it up in the middle of the front room so he can jump all around.
3. He wears size 3 diapers.
4. Last week he got up on all 4s for the first time, he makes slight movements but not fully crawling yet.
5. Still no teeth.
6. He still sleeps really well at night.
7. LOVES water! Bathtub, pool, lake, ocean...takes after his daddy.
8. He loves to laugh and smile.
9. He likes to hold and use his sippy cup like a big boy.
10. He likes to says Dadaa Dadaa. He doesn't realize what he is saying yet, but it still melts is daddy's heart to hear it.

Earlier this month we were able to go to Florida for 10 days for Tyler's graduation. He actually finished school in December but decided to walk in May so we could stay and make a vacation out of it. I am so proud of him and all his hard work.
My 2 graduates

Our friends the Ottesen's were able to come and join in the fun too, it was fun having them there! The trip was really fun and luckily Jack did really well on the plane and with all of the driving! We are so lucky to have such a good little boy!

Jack looking around at all the people in the airport

The first few days we drove over to the West coast side and stopped at Santibel island and Siesta Key! When they say Santibel Island is one of the world's top beaches for sea shells they weren't kidding! We found some really cool shells to add to our collection, and Jack loved playing in the sand/water.

We also went to Everglades City for the first time. It was a fun little town and had some tasty grouper and alligator for us to eat. Tyler also found a gator head he has been wanting so it was a successful trip.
This big guy was soaking up the sun just 2 feet off of the trail

We then made our way down to the keys and spent the next 6 days there. We stayed in marathon at Hawks Cay Resort! It was the perfect place with kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, patio, ocean front yard, and even a washer and dryer. They also have their own lagoon pool and several freshwater pools around the resort. It was the perfect place for a family getaway.

Did I mention Jack LOVES to play in the sand??!! LOL

Getting a little sleepy lol

Trying out the new floating bodysuit

A few of the fish from the deep sea fishing charter. We ate fish for 5 days, grilled fish, bbq fish, baked fish, broiled fish, fish tacos, it was SOO YUMMY!!

One day we spent in Key West walking around the shops and checking out all the historical places. We also went to the butterfly conservatory which we hadn't done on any of our previous keys trips. Surprisingly it was really cool and Jack LOVED it!! As you enter there are tons of beautiful butterflies flying around. Jack loved watching them fly around and he would reach out and trying to grab them.

Jack fell asleep holding his fan lol

Yummy Cuban food in Key West

The flight home was really smooth and Jack just sat in the seat between us and played with his toys and slept.

All week we were careful about what we ate and drank so we wouldnt get sick. Our last night there we ate at Margaritaville....These macho nachos were super good going in, but the next day we were regretting them. We were lucky it was our last night...and lucky that all airports and airplanes have plenty of bathrooms!!! yuck

At Margaritaville...(after the nachos)... We were asked to dress as a cheeseburger and dance around the restaurant as they played Jimmy Buffetts "Cheeseburger in Paradise"!!!! It was super fun. Jeff & Jenna are the 2 buns on the ends, I am the cheese, and Ty is the meat behind me!!! Way funny. There is a vidoe clip of it and the song is in my playlist if you have never heard it!!

A few years ago I made a list of things I want to do before I die. This month I was able to cross of completing a Triathlon!! The swim was first and it was actually better than I had expected which is funny because after the race I found out that a lot of people had to be pulled out of the water do to the high winds causing huge waves and making it too dangerous. My heat was actually the last one they even let start the swim. I guess being a first timer and not knowing what to expect or what to compare the water conditions to made it so I swam the course thinking it was normal and do-able. Next was the bike leg which seemed to fly by. The whole time on the bike I was grateful I wasn’t one of those people on the side of the road fixing a flat tire! Last was the run. We did 2 laps on a dirt trail which was fun, except for the sandy parts which seemed to swallow your feet. It was fun to see Ty there cheering after my first loop of the run and gave me an extra boost to finish the last lap. I was especially happy to see his face again the second time because it meant I was finished!!! This tri was one of the most fun races I’ve ever done!!

Coronado Island Trip February2008

Coronado Island Trip February2008
In February we were able to go to Coronado Island. We had fun hanging out with friends from work and were SUPER excited to find out that the beach by our resort had tons of sand dollars on it. We were in heaven, we love to collect shells, sand, and coconuts. We ended up with about 70 sand dollars! While there we spent one day touring the USS Midway aircraft carrier! It was SO amazing. It was really neat to talk to the volunteers that help with the tour who are elderly men that actually served onboard the ship. They have some pretty amazing/crazy stories.

Leaving Port in Miami for our 1st cruise to the Bahamas!! It was a very fun trip except for the first night which was really rough and almost everyone was sick. Luckily Ty and I didnt get sick, but we knew its pretty rough when all the water in the pool splashed out!! The rest of the trip was calm and perfect!! We stopped at Coco Kay and Naussau.

California Spring break trip. March 2008
Ty loves the ocean and being able to surf and boogie board so every spring break we head to the beaches of California. We found a really cool camping site on a bluff right above the beach where we stay. Nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves and the best part about it is there are even hot showers!!! This year our gang included Gary&Megs, Jeff&Jenna, and Kyle and Jess!!
